At IIHS, students have access to state-of-the-art lab facilities designed to replicate real healthcare settings. Along with these labs, students benefit from excellent clinical placement opportunities, ensuring they gain valuable real-world experience in healthcare environments.
The Demonstration Laboratory at IIHS is a dedicated space where students can practice their clinical skills. It offers hands-on experience with essential medical procedures and tools, allowing students to build confidence and proficiency in a safe, supervised environment before moving into real-world healthcare settings
At the heart of the lab are high-fidelity mannequins that respond like real patients. These advanced mannequins can display vital signs, react to treatments, and even simulate complex medical conditions, allowing students to experience realistic patient responses. This setup enables students to build both their technical skills and their confidence in decision-making—all within a safe, supervised space. The Simulation Lab offers a controlled yet dynamic environment, helping students to be fully prepared and capable when they transition to caring for actual patients
Through the XR Hub, students can simulate complex healthcare scenarios within a highly realistic virtual environment. This facility allows them to interact with virtual patients, practice diagnostic and procedural skills, and explore real-life medical situations in a controlled, safe, and interactive space. The Hub not only fosters a deeper understanding of patient care but also builds critical skills for handling high-pressure situations—all without the risks associated with traditional clinical training. This innovative approach positions our institution at the forefront of healthcare education in Sri Lanka, offering unparalleled training that prepares students for the demands of modern healthcare.
